How To Plan The Most Epic Trip To Ibiza

Ibiza is widely regarded as one of the party capitals of the world, but clubs aren’t the only things it offers. Here are a few tips for planning an incredible trip to Ibiza, whether with your friends or family.

How to Get There

Ibiza may be an island, but it is easy to get to, no matter where you are from. Firstly, most European airports offer direct flights to the island, and if they don’t, you can make your way to Madrid or Barcelona and catch a quick flight across.

Several boats also head to the island if you want to add a unique touch to your trip. Pack your e-liquid and bathing suit; a boat trip to and around Ibiza can be a party all on its own.

Getting Around

Getting around the island is a breeze, depending on where you stay. You can easily spend the entire trip walking, but if that isn’t for you, you can also rent a car or a scooter to see all the sights.

Some hotels can be a little off the beaten track; therefore, a car or scooter rental may be necessary if you are planning to do a lot of exploring.

Where to Stay

There is a plethora of hotels, B&Bs and AirBnBs across the island. Finding somewhere to stay isn’t the hard part, but rather finding an opening. Ibiza enjoys incredible weather year-round, meaning there isn’t necessarily a clear-cut “quiet season.”

However, winter is often less busy than it is in the warmer months, meaning there are far more rooms available, and prices are often much more affordable.

Book in Advance

No matter when you visit the island, it is important to book activities and trips in advance. Ibiza is busy throughout the year, but the warmer times of year see a massive influx of visitors from around the world.

Therefore, it is best to book whatever you want to do, from offshore excursions to dinner, far more in advance than you may expect. Don’t make the mistake of arriving on the island and hoping for the best.

What To Do

Once you’re there, there are four main things that you should take the time to do: visit the stunning beaches, indulge in a bit of shopping, hit a few nightclubs, and explore the beautiful landscapes around the island.

Beaches

Ibiza has some of the most beautiful beaches in Europe, and there are so many to choose from that you can easily spend one afternoon with a cocktail and the sunset, and then head to a quiet stretch of sand for a relaxing morning. They are also brilliant for swimming and watersports, and they can be enjoyed by everyone, old and young.

Shopping

While not the biggest draw on the island, there is plenty of shopping to do in Ibiza. From well-known retailers to small markets, you can pick up all your Summer essentials and a few trinkets all in one place.

Clubs

Ibiza is world-famous for its club scene. It is home to some of the biggest and most extravagant clubs in Europe, and you can easily party the night away until the early hours of the morning.

Explore

You may not know, but Ibiza has a ton of natural beauty to discover and enjoy. From gorgeous hikes to breathtaking views of the ocean, exploring the island will give you insight into a part of it that isn’t so well documented.

Budget

Budgeting for Ibiza can be tricky because it isn’t the cheapest place to visit, but it is quite the opposite. Ibiza can be a costly place to visit, especially if you plan on doing almost everything there is to do.

The best option is to rather set yourself a reasonable, daily budget. It is far too easy t overspend when you are having a good time, but your wallet will thank you if you have a daily budget and you stick to it.

When to Visit

While it has been touched on already, there are parts of the year that are the best to visit the island. If you are heading to Ibiza to party and enjoy the club scene, June and August will be the best times to visit.

May, June, and September are great times to visit for fun in the sun, but they also tend to be cheaper as well. October to February is the cooler and rainier time of year, and while many clubs and bars are closed over this period, it is a great time for a more quiet and relaxed holiday.

Fun for the Whole Family

Finally, Ibiza is in no way just a place to go and party. While that is a massive draw of the island, there is plenty of fun to be had for the entire family. Whether it be the beach or the selection of family-friendly restaurants, the kids will have just as much fun as you.

Ibiza is also a brilliant place to relax. Thanks to the selection of beaches and spa resorts on the island, it is most definitely possible to have a quiet getaway on the island, away from all of the hustle and bustle.
